James Franklin Bailey
James Franklin Bailey, 87, of Terre Haute, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009. He was born on June 6, 1922, in Clifton, to Mack Bailey and Novella (Broyles) Bailey. He was employed for 32 years at Indiana Gas and Chemical, and Terre Haute Coke and Carbon.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Cooper Bailey; one son, Tim; two daughters, Fransetta and Gale, all of Terre Haute; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Florence Cooper of Terre Haute; sister-in-law, Georgia Bailey of Terre Haute; special cousin, Vella McAdoo, of Pontiac, Mich.; very special niece, Christie Roberts of Terre Haute; and very special nephews, Angelo Cooper III of Terre Haute, Nick, Noah, Nigel and Nate Utley, all of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Novella Bailey; sister, Ruby Howard; and brother, C.L. Bailey.
Special thanks to Dr. R. Puchalapalli; nurses, Pam Hay and Dawn Hipkiss; and all nurses from Terre Haute Regional Hospital that took care of my husband over the years, and Vista Care Services.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at Roselawn Memorial Park, with Jerry Denton officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Chapel of Memories. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Russell Funeral Home, 419 N. 21st St., Terre Haute, IN.
