Lincoln Hagy Jr.
Lincoln Hagy Jr., 54, of Terre Haute, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, in the comfort of his home. He had been a self-employed painter for over 20 years and later in 2005, he became employed as a correctional officer with Vigo County Jail until his health started to decline because of a liver transplant. He was born Jan. 18, 1954, in Panther, W.Va., to Lincoln Hagy and Lorene Peters Hagy.
Survivors include the love of his life, Darlene Hagy; his mother; two daughters, Soundra Clymer and her husband Travis and Jennifer Adkins and her fiancé Jesus Lopez, all of Terre Haute; a son, Michael Richey and his wife Liz of Texas; seven sisters and their spouses, Jean and Bobby Baker, Toni Ervin, Donna and Darrell White, Lilly and Bill Bonner, Deborah and Brian Hamilton, Theresa and Jerry Turner, and Angela Hagy; six grandchildren, Natalie Clymer, Travis “TK” Clymer, Yessenia Lopez, Jesus Lopez, Gavin Richey, and Issabelle Richey; father-in-law, David Schwager; five brothers-in-law, Bud Phillips, David W. Schwager, Herbie Blaine, Michael Schwager and Mark Alexander; four sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Ragsdale, Linda Baker, Marg Zieman and Karen Blaine; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Brenda Gilreath; a brother, Luke Hagy; and a brother-in-law, Elvis Ervin.
He was a member of the Kings Harvest Foursquare Gospel Church, where he played guitar with the worship team. He was a faithful man of God. His love was for the Higher Hope Ministry to reach out to the lost for the Lord.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday in the Kings Harvest Foursquare Gospel Church, 1801 Harding Ave., in Terre Haute, with the Rev. Dennis Leek officiating. Burial is in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is noon until service time in the church. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the church with envelopes available in the church. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
