Arnold Noel

Arnold Noel, 71, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 11:23 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He retired from Pillsbury after many years of service. He was born Nov. 16, 1936, in Crane, to Robert William Noel and Edria Fox Noel.

Survivors include his children, Samantha Nichols and her husband Steve of Carbon, Harvey Barnhart and his wife Connie, Debra Fagg and her husband Tom, and Dennis Barnhart and his wife Nikki, all of West Terre Haute, and Barbara Lee and her husband Bill of Seelyville; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Barnhart of West Terre Haute; two brothers, Harold Noel of Farmersburg and Earl Noel and his wife Darlene of Terre Haute; a sister, Vicki Bollinger and her husband Dennis of Terre Haute; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bill and Mable Shadden and Tammy Barnhart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Mershon Noel, on Feb. 15, 1997; a son, Terry Barnhart; his father; mother and stepfather, Edria and William Perkins; and a sister, Linda Joseph.

He attended Smith Park United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services are 2 p.m. Saturday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with Pastor Ed Gladish officiating. Visitation is noon until service time Saturday. According to his wishes, cremation has been scheduled for after services. Graveside committal service and burial of his ashes is 1 p.m. Tuesday in Roselawn Memorial Park.
