Nina Mary Deakins

Nina Mary Deakins, 75, went to be with the Lord at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, in Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute. She was born April 18, 1933, in Center Point, the daughter of John H. and Mary Boyll Wehrmeyer. She attended school in Poland and later attended school in Staunton. She started working at Sears Roebuck & Company in Terre Haute at age 18 and continued her employment there for 30 years. She was manager of Sears catalog department. She later worked for Fashion Bug before retiring.

Survivors include her three sons, Jack Deakins and his wife Susan of Brazil, Mike Deakins and his wife Janet of Staunton and Tom Deakins and his wife Sara of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Vickie Baker of Terre Haute; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much; and one brother, John Wehrmeyer and his wife Louise of Terre Haute.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Wehrmeyer; and one sister, Elizabeth Davidson.

Visitation is 12 noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday in Moore Funeral Home, 142 N. Washington St., in Brazil. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Guinn Shingleton officiating. Burial will follow in Summit Lawn Cemetery.
