Mary C. Martin
BRAZIL — Mary C. Martin, 80, of Brazil, passed away at 4:45 a.m., Friday, July 4, 2008, following an extended illness. She was born on Nov. 24, 1927, in Brazil, to Thomas R. and Mildred (Coleman) Thompson. Mrs. Martin graduated from Bridgeton High School. She worked as a sales clerk for Merit Shoe Store, in Brazil, for 19 years. On Jan. 17, 1948, she married Richard E. Martin. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family as well as playing canasta.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald E. Martin and his wife Beverly; two granddaughters, Stacy Danhour and her husband Jerry and Tonya Dickison and her husband Harry, all of Carbon; three great-grandsons, Brock, Jacob, and Dylan; and one great-granddaughter, Chelsea.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Richard E. Martin.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, in Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., in Brazil, with Pastor Howard Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of services Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
