DANA — Wayne Carnahan, 72, of Dana died at 9:06 a.m. July 1, 2009 in his residence. He was a farmer for Redman Farms of Dana with 47 years of service. He was born Jan. 18, 1937 in Vincennes to the late Lester W. Carnahan and Mary Alice Hall Carnahan.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Susan McCoy Carnahan whom he married Nov. 27, 1955. Also surviving, five daughters, Kathy (James) Shepard of Terre Haute, Ind., Gayle Southard of Dana, Vickie (Wayne) Griffin of Paris, Ill., Linda Jones of Clinton, Ind. and Lori Asher of Paris; one brother, John Carnahan of Paris; three sisters, Edith (Cleo) Emrick of Paris, Barbara (Don) Mattingly of Brocton, Ill., Carol (Clint) Drake of Anderson, Ind. and Nila Kay (Ron) Nugent of Paris; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Memorial services are 3 p.m. Sunday, in Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home at 225 N. Maple St. in Dana. Memorial visitation is from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday.
