Harold Stanley Bays

— Harold Stanley Bays, 77, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Terre Haute, died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007. He was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Terre Haute. He was a chemical engineer for Ashland Oil and for A.M. Kinney. He was co-founder of Pedco in Cincinnati. He retired after working as an independent consultant.
Survivors included his wife of 54 years, Patricia King Bays; one son, James Bays of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter, Catherine Tasse of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Dan Tasse and Cheryl Tasse, both of Cleveland; stepgranddaughter, Lindy Boon of St. Petersburg.
He was a graduate of Garfield High School in 1948 and an alumnus of Purdue University in 1952. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, in the chapel at Highland Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Ray Main officiating. Cremation was chosen. Beyers Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
