Ernestine Viola Cummins Dillion

Ernestine Viola Cummins Dillion, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away at 7:49 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, in Davis Gardens Health Center. She was born on Dec. 19, 1918, in West Terre Haute, the daughter of Raymond Cummins and Bertha Campbell Cummins. She was a housewife.

Survivors include her two sons, Phillip Clyde Liffick and his wife Judy of Terre Haute and Dennis Dean Liffick and his wife Wilma of Coatesville; four daughters, Darlene Pilkinton and her husband Robert of Mayflower, Ark., Patricia Stroup of Fairmount, Penny Tracy and her husband Larry of Crawfordsville and Pamela Goldsberry and her husband Phillip of Chandler, Ariz.; two stepsons, Lee Dillion and his wife Kim of Terre Haute and Bobby Joe Dillion and his wife Judy of Prairieton; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dillion, in 1987; one brother, Raymond Cummins; and one sister, Bobbie Barnhart.

She was a member of New Life Tabernacle Church.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, with the Revs. Jeffrey Harpold, Merrill Weir, and Phillip Goldsberry officiating. Burial is in Clarksville Cemetery, near Marshall, Ill. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
