Bruce E. Higham
Bruce E. Higham, 85, of Terre Haute, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, in Royal Oaks Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. He worked for General Motors as an electrician. He was born on July 1, 1922, to Robert Massie Higham and Thelma Pearl Nicoson Higham. He married Betty Irene Rogers Higham and the good Lord took her home on July 18, 1986.
Survivors include his four sons, Lloyd Higham and his wife Linda, Bruce N. Higham and his wife Alice, Robert Higham and his wife Judy, and Henry (Buster) Higham and his wife Sandy; one daughter, Beverly Higham Hooker and her husband Don Hooker Sr.; one sister, Charity Wessol; grandchildren, Lori Higham, Bruce E. Higham, Karen Harris, Robert J. Higham, Bethann Higham, Chris Panaranto, Suzanne Goda, Donnie Hooker, Brandy Higham, Staci Rogers, Matthew Higham, Lindley Higham, and Lloyd Higham Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jonathon Higham, Sara Higham, Emily Higham, Gavin Hooker, Colten Panaranto, Wyatt Harris, Sarah Harris, Briar Goda and Noah Higham; nephews, Bobby Grizzle, Ernie Grizzle, Jimmy Oeffler, Steve Emberton, Darrell and Ronnie Higham, Doug Lyons, Jay, Gary, Mike, Jimmy, Rick, and Steve Padgett; nieces, Carol Myers, Cindy Faught, Janie Hope, Judy Lyons, Tommie Lyla and Michelle; and many greats not mentioned.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bobby and Rex Higham; and five sisters, Hope, Faith, Carol, Tommie and Truth; and nephews, Rex Higham and Dennis Cook.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday in Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave., with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating. Burial is in Bethesda Memorial Park with military graveside rites by VFW Post 972. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
