Max D. Cuthbertson

— ROSEDALE — Max D. Cuthbertson, 79, of Rosedale, died at 7:35 a.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008, in Royal Oaks Heathcare and Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute. He was born July 10, 1928, in Rosedale, to Raymond Cuthbertson and Agnes Marie Grieves Cuthbertson. He retired from Ethel Visqueen in Terre Haute with 29 years service. His wife of 43 years, Gladys Stevenson Cuthbertson, whom he married June 19, 1954, in Rosedale, died Feb. 2, 1998.
Survivors include one son, Ric Cuthbertson and his wife Donna of Terre Haute; one brother, Ronnie Cuthbertson of Terre Haute; two sisters, Bertha Frazier of Rosedale and Sharon King of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Brian Batchelor, Jeremy Batchelor, Aaron Batchelor, Heather Hendrix, Stacey Hendrix, Tracey Cuthbertson and Brittany Cuthbertson; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a daughter, Debbie Smith on Dec. 8, 2005.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended the Crosslane Christian Church. He also served 16 years as a custodian of Rosedale Elementary School.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 287 Main St. in Rosedale, with the Rev. Randy McPike officiating. Burial will follow in Stevenson Cemetery in northern Vigo County. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home and before services on Thursday.
