Clyde E. Branson
Clyde E. Branson, 72, of Terre Haute, died Friday, May 9, 2008. He was born Oct. 31, 1935, to Lewis C. and Dolly M. Grayless Branson. He was a retired operating engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Hendrix Branson; sons, Michael D. Cooper and his companion, Diane Kiefner and Patrick V. Cooper and his companion, Lisa Hicks; stepsons, John W. Anderson and his wife Billie and Michael C. Anderson and his wife Sherry; daughters, Mary Ann Gillie and her husband Billy and Belinda Clark and her husband Robert; stepdaughter, Jean Ann Schmittgens and her husband Bryan; one brother, Lewis H. Branson; and one sister, Shirley Miller and her husband, Don; grandchildren, Angella Starnes, Edward L. Tener II, Tiffany and Bobby Gillie, Caitlin E. Cooper, Bobby Jo Cooper, Amber D. Hicks, Christina M. Hicks, Matthew J. Anderson, Loren Anderson, Levi M. Anderson, Clayton M. Anderson; Brittany L. Morris, Destiny D. Morris, Brooke A. Morris, and Deana D. Morris; great-grandchildren, Sheilla D. Alour, Chlole J. Cooper, Paityn E. Cooper, and Prestyn R. Nesbit; and nieces and nephews, Donnie, Mike and Rick Miller, Kari Caswell, Jerri Ann Holman, Lewis H. Branson Jr., Douglas Lemay, and Janet Fullen,
He served in the National Guard during the Korean War. He was director of G.W.T.A. He was a member of Operating Engineer 841. He was a very hard worker and a dedicated husband and father. He also loved motorcycles. He was loved and cherished by his family and friends. He loved his faithful dogs, Sally and Cricket.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary J. Law Branson; the aunt and uncle, who raised him, Clyde and Bess Grayless; and a grandson, David Levi Tener.
Funeral services are 7 p.m. Tuesday in Berean Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Cremation was selected. Services under the direction of Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Memorial contribution may be sent to Berean Baptist Church Building Fund, 6770 N. Clinton St., Terre Haute, IN 47805
