Mildred L. Elder

— Mildred L. Elder, 94, of Phoenix, and formerly of Terre Haute, died Sunday, May 4, 2008. She was born in Vincennes, on Jan. 15, 1914, to Herman Bailey Liston and Essie Mayfield Liston. She retired from the former General Telephone Company as an operator.
She is survived by a stepson, James Elder; a stepdaughter, Judy Mullin; a sister-in-law, Virginia Liston; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Elder.
While living in Terre Haute, she was a member of the Central Christian Church, Daughters of the Nile, and Telephone Pioneers.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Roselawn Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Rebecca Zelensky officiating. DeBaun Funeral Homes and Crematory assisted with the arrangements.
