David A. Murphy

— David A. Murphy, 59, of Eugene, Ore., formerly of Terre Haute, died Monday, May 5, 2008, of cancer. He was born on Sept. 1, 1948, in Terre Haute, to Richard and Frieda Stilwell Murphy. He was network administrator for Oregon Student Assistance Commission.
Survivors include his mother; one brother, Steven Murphy of Terre Haute; one sister, Nancy Schueler of Decatur; an aunt, Catherine Bailey; and one uncle, Richard Stilwell, both of Terre Haute; one niece, Jessica Schueler of Indianapolis; and two nephews, Adam Schueler of Indianapolis and Aaron Schueler of Fort Wayne.
He served in the U.S. Navy in Korea, and Vietnam as a radar operator. He had a degree in English from the University of Oregon.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Unity Presbyterian Church, 1207 E. Springhill Drive with the Rev. Linda Peters officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Terre Haute. Celebration of Life services were held 11 a.m. Thursday in Musgrave Family Center in Eugene.
