Sobriety checkpoint planned

The Tribune-Star

TERRE HAUTE — The Indiana State Police Putnamville District, with the assistance of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office and the Terre Haute Police Department, are planning to conduct a sobriety checkpoint during the late evening hours Friday in Vigo County, ISP said in a press release.

The checkpoint will be in conjunction with the Operation Pull Over Blitz 78, St. Patrick’s Day Aggressive Driving and DUI, which began Feb. 28 and runs through Sunday.

A driver who encounters a checkpoint will be required to produce a valid license and registration. Motorists who are not impaired can expect delays of two to three minutes while passing through the checkpoint.

Should you encounter a person suspected of driving impaired or fatigued, ISP asks that you call 911.
