TERRE HAUTE — A Terre Haute woman faces a child neglect charge after being arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle.

Chelsea Casey, 21, appeared via video in Vigo Superior Court 5 on Monday where Senior Judge Barbara Brugnaux set Casey’s bail at $25,000  with no 10 percent allowed.

Casey faces charges of driving while intoxicated as a class-A misdemeanor and as a class-D felony because a child younger than age 18 was in the vehicle; and class-D felonies of child neglect and possession of methamphetamine.

The judge learned that Casey has a pending case in Clay County where she faces charges of felony theft, public intoxication and possession of a syringe. She also was convicted in 2011 of receiving stolen property in Vigo County.

Her trial date is set for Jan. 9, with a hearing date of Dec. 18.
