Ernie Pyle Museum opening Friday for summer

TERRE HAUTE — The Ernie Pyle World War II Museum in downtown Dana will open for its summer season on Friday.

The museum, which features the house in which Ernie Pyle was born and displays dedicated to preserving Pyle’s legacy as a World War II correspondent, will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

General admission for visitors is $3.50 for adults; $3 for adults age 55 and older; $2 for children ages 4-12, and free for ages 3 and under.

To schedule a group tour for any time, call the site at 765-665-3633 and leave a message detailing your request.

Dana is located in Vermillion County in west-central Indiana at the intersection of U.S. 36 and Indiana 71.

The former Ernie Pyle State Historic Site is now operated by The Friends of Ernie Pyle, a nonprofit organization made up of community volunteers.
