TERRE HAUTE —
A new trial date has been set for a man accused of murdering his wife and dumping her body in a remote area of Vigo County.
Enzert Lewis, 39, appeared in Vigo Superior Court 3 on Monday where a March 3, 2014, trial date was set.
Lewis had been set to go on trial in late October in the death of Allyson Elmi-Lewis, whose body was found Nov. 3, 2012, near the Vigo-Clay county line. Lewis was arrested Nov. 6 on the murder charge, alleging that he killed his wife on Oct. 10.
Lewis also has been charged with altering the scene of a death and obstruction of justice, both class-D felonies, and invasion of privacy, a class-A misdemeanor.
The woman’s body was found just off Hyde Road along the Vigo-Clay county line about a mile north of Indiana 42. Lewis was arrested after police investigated information from a family member who heard about a woman’s body being found and reported the victim missing.
