Cloverdale man arrested on child molesting allegations

CLOVERDALE — A Cloverdale man has been arrested by Indiana State Police at Putnamville on allegations of child molestation.

Richard W. Stuart, 21, was arrested early Sunday on three counts of class-A felony child molestation. He was booked into the Putnam County Jail at Greencastle to await a court hearing.

According to an ISP news release, the Putnam County Department of Child Services contacted the ISP Putnamville post on Friday concerning allegations of child molestation against Stuart. Detectives began an investigation, and arrested Stuart on allegations that he engaged in sex acts with a 5-year-old child during the past six months at a rural Putnam County residence.

The case was investigated by ISP First Sgt. Jeff Hearon, Detective John Goldner, Crime Scene Investigator Sgt. Jim Cody and the Putnam County Department of Child Services.
