TERRE HAUTE — No injuries were reported in a house fire that occurred late Sunday in the 1300 block of South 10th Street.

Terre Haute firefighters responded to the scene around 11 p.m. to find flames and heavy smoke coming from the home.

Assistant Chief Brett Doan of the Terre Haute Fire Department told the Tribune-Star that an occupant of the home reported a smoke odor in the second floor of the home before the fire was discovered.

The fire is believed to be accidental, Doan said, and might be related to a woodburning furnace.

The home sustained an estimated $25,000 to $30,000 in damage.
