Trial date set in First Ave. death

Police continue investigation of shooting incident, request information

TERRE HAUTE — A Terre Haute woman connected to a Nov. 8 homicide learned Friday that she has an April 17 trial date.

Amber Reynolds, 33, appeared via video in Vigo Superior Court 1 where she learned that she faces two criminal charges, altering the scene of a death and obstructing justice, both class-D felonies.

She was arrested Nov. 8 when Terre Haute Police discovered the body of Ronald Arrowsmith in a home in the 2200 block of First Avenue. Reynolds lived there with her 53-year-old mother-in-law, Rhonda, who has also been arrested and charged with altering the scene of a death and obstructing justice.

Information filed in court states that Amber Reynolds altered the scene of a death by cleaning up blood and the area around Arrowsmith’s body.

The information also states that she obstructed justice by trying to remove the body from her mother-in-law’s home, and that she took a substantial step in doing that by wrapping the body in a blanket and a tarp and tying it up.

Rhonda Reynolds faces the same charges, also with an April 17 trial date. Police found the body of Arrowsmith — who had been shot in the head — while responding to Reynolds’ residence after receiving a call from Arrowsmith’s girlfriend.

Terre Haute Police confirmed Friday afternoon that the investigation is continuing, and no additional arrests had been made.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call THPD at 812-238-1661.
