NBC may air Lost Creek SPPRAK report May 3

TERRE HAUTE — The Vigo County based not-for-profit group Special People Performing Random Acts of Kindness — SPPRAK — will be featured on the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams tonight, pushing the appearance back one day from earlier projections.

SPPRAK started a program in Vigo County elementary schools this year that has gotten national attention and will be the focus of the NBC News feature story. The program, known as the “SPPRAK Pack,” encourages kids to recognize small acts of kindness they see around them each day.

Earlier, NBC had felt there was a strong possibility the story would run Thursday evening, but those plans were changed.

NBC news crews on Monday interviewed Lost Creek Elementary School students, teachers and administrators during a visit to Terre Haute.

SPPRAK is a not-for-profit organization started in 2009 by Kim Grubb, Robin Heng and Susan Short.
