TERRE HAUTE —
A July 9 trial date has been set for a woman arrested for allegedly conspiring to rob the Casey’s General Store on Third Street.
Stacie K. Wood, 25, appeared in Vigo Superior Court 3 on Thursday where she was also put on the Jan. 31 schedule for a bond reduction hearing.
Wood, an employee of the convenience store, was arrested for her alleged involvement in the Jan. 16 armed robbery. She has been charged with two class-B felonies — armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Her boyfriend, Charles Johnson, has been charged with armed robbery and theft for his alleged involvement in the incident. His trial date is to be set Monday.
According to a police report, Wood went into the business on her day off at a time that she knew the manager would be counting money and preparing to make a bank deposit. Wood allegedly left the store a short time before the manager walked out of the building to go to the bank, and Wood allegedly indicated to Johnson that the manager would be approaching a parked vehicle soon. Police said Johnson later robbed the manager, who was trying to get into a vehicle. The manager identified the robber as Johnson.
