Trial date set for Terre Haute man accused of stabbing

TERRE HAUTE — A July 23 trial date has been set for a Terre Haute man accused in a weekend stabbing.

Jeremiah N. LaMaster, 24, is being held in the Vigo County Jail with bail set at $100,000 cash only.

LaMaster was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a standoff with Terre Haute Police. He was named as a suspect in a Sunday stabbing, and was being arrested on a warrant.

LaMaster appeared in Vigo Superior Court 5 on Thursday where he was charged with aggravated battery, battery resulting in serious bodily injury and criminal recklessness. He also faces a habitual offender charge, and has an additional $10,000 bail filed for a probation violation.

A public defender was appointed to his case. A pretrial hearing is set for June 27.
