Newlin-Johnson acquires property management rival Dillion Property Pros

TERRE HAUTE — Newlin-Johnson Co. Inc. on Friday acquired Dillion Property Pros, forming the largest private property management business in Terre Haute.

Prudential Newlin-Johnson Realtors will now manage nearly 900 apartments, condominiums and single-family homes, primarily in Vigo County. “About 90 percent of the [Dillion] acquisition properties are in Vigo County, with some others in Clinton and Rockville,” said John S. Newlin, president of Newlin-Johnson Co. Inc., founded in 1932.

The acquisition, Newlin said, will add about 374 rental properties to Prudential Newlin-Johnson Realtors.

Kim Dillion, president of Dillion, has become the marketing manager for property management services and a licensed real estate broker for Prudential Newlin-Johnson Realtors,

“This acquisition was a growth opportunity,” Newlin said. “We already have a business structure that can absorb this amount of additional work under our current systems. We don’t have to reinvent the wheel. We have the management and system in place to handle it.

“We want to help individuals and families from the time they move into their first apartment, to when they purchase their first home and throughout their life as they adjust their housing to fit their family’s needs,” Newlin said.

The acquisition “expands the options we can provide [to] individuals and families seeking a home to rent. Our goal is to make finding and managing the perfect place to live as easy as a single telephone call,” Newlin added.

Newlin-Johnson Co. Inc. will now have 38 employees, which includes seven employees merged from Dillion Property Pros, Newlin said. The company, at 601 Ohio St., offers real estate sales; real estate rental management; property maintenance and lawn care; real estate appraisals; and insurance.
