Two arrested on drug charges

TERRE HAUTE — Two Terre Haute residents were arrested Thursday on methamphetamine-related charges following an investigation by the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Unit.

Matthew E. Buell, 35, and Kimberly M. Kozik, 36, both face charges of manufacturing meth within 1,000 feet of a day care or preschool, as well as felony possession of meth, possession of precursors, dumping controlled waste, possession of controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

At 8:28 a.m. Thursday, the ISP meth team descended upon a residence in the 3200 block of North 23rd Street to investigate meth-related activity. The troopers located an active “one pot” meth lab and remnants of multiple other labs. They also say they found five grams of meth and six grams of marijuana.

Police report that the residence and garage were outfitted with an exterior surveillance system to monitor the property.

Buell and Kozik were booked into the Vigo County Jail, with court dates set for today.
