Museum to offer military discounts on Sunday

TERRE HAUTE — To celebrate Military Child month, the Terre Haute Children’s Museum will offer discounted admission for veterans and their families on Sunday.

Since 1986, when Defense Secretary Casper Weinberger designated April as Month of the Military Child, communities have recognized the sacrifice and courage of military kids. In the last three years, approximately two million children have witnessed the deployment of one or both parents.

The Month of the Military Child creates awareness of the service and sacrifices of the military's children.

On Sunday, the Terre Haute Children’s Museum is offering all veterans – including active, retired or former U.S. military – and their family members $2 off admission with proof of military service, such as military ID cards, Veterans Affairs cards or discharge papers. The Museum will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, and the discount will be valid all day.

The Terre Haute Children’s Museum is a nonprofit institution located at the corner of 8th Street and Wabash Avenue in downtown Terre Haute. Regular admission is $7 for adults and children age 2 and older. Members of the Museum and children under the age of 2 are admitted for free.

For more information about the Terre Haute Children’s Museum, visit www.thchildrensmuseum.com, email info@terrehautechildrensmuseum.com, or call 812-235-5548.
