TERRE HAUTE —
Terre Haute City Police were investigating a two-car accident with injuries that occurred at Third and Cherry streets around 8 p.m. Monday.
The Terre Haute Fire Department also responded, and southbound traffic was temporarily closed at the intersection. Initially, the call came in as an accident with an entrapment, but that turned out not to be the case, said Nick Sarris, fire department battalion chief.
A female passenger in one of the cars was taken to Union Hospital. Her condition was not immediately available, although her injuries did not appear to be life threatening, Sarris said.
At least two other people were taken to the hospital for observation.
The Vigo County Sheriff’s department also assisted.
