TERRE HAUTE —
St. Patrick School has announced that the second program of its “Family Resource Series” next week will feature America’s leading authority on juvenile homicide, Phil Chalmers,.
The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the gymnasium of Saint Patrick's School. This program is open to the community with a $5 donation requested at the door.
Chalmers has interviewed more than 200 teen killers and school shooters, and has been studying youth culture for 25 years. He is the author of numerous books and documentaries, including his latest two book releases, “Inside the Mind of a Teen Killer” and “True Lies: 40 Lies That Are Killing This Generation.”
Chalmers will cover the causes, warning signs and triggers of teen violence. “It is difficult to talk about such topics, but it is imperative that we seek to understand our current culture” said Amy McClain, principal, Saint Patrick School.
The Saint Patrick’s Family Resource Series is designed to bring information and resources to parents and guardians to help keep up with changes in youth culture and to provide programs to help strengthen parenting skills.
“We want to be proactive in providing tools to build strong relationships between parents/guardians and kids”, said McClain. “We welcome and hope that the community takes advantage of the series and would like to know what topics would be of interest as part of the series.”
