Five people were arrested Wednesday by Brazil Police serving a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of North McGuire Street in Brazil.
According to a news release issued by the Brazil Police Department, at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, police served a search warrant at the home for the suspected manufacturing of methamphetamine.
During the search, two “one pot” meth labs, precursors, meth and a stolen handgun were discovered.
Police arrested Jerry Jones, Laurie Jones, Sheldon Harrington, Patrick Huff and Veronica Huff on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, a class-A felony, possession of methamphetamine, a class-C felony, as well as possession of precursors and maintaining a common nuisance, both class-D felonies.
All five were booked into the Clay County Jail.
The clandestine meth lab team of the Indiana State Police assisted in the investigation, collection of evidence, and disposal of the meth labs and hazardous materials.
