Early-Tuesday fire destroys Seelyville mobile home

Family escapes without injury

TERRE HAUTE — A mobile home was destroyed by a fire early Tuesday morning at Latta Mobile Home Park in the 2200 block of Tabortown Road in Seelyville.

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting from windows of the home, which was a complete loss.

The family residing there was able to escape without injury and is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross Wabash Valley chapter.

Lost Creek Township Trustee Rick Long said the fire’s cause is under investigation, but appears to be electrical in nature.

Seelyville firefighters responded to the scene after being dispatched at 12:19 a.m. Mutual aid came from Sugar Creek, Riley, Sandford and Honey Creek fire departments.

Firefighters were at the scene until about 2:43 a.m.
