Teffeteller to head United Way campaign

TERRE HAUTE — The United Way of the Wabash Valley has named Scott Teffeteller, president and CEO of Union Hospital, as the 2013-2014 Campaign Chairman, the organization said in a news release Wednesday.

Teffeteller will lead the campaign cabinet, consisting of 27 community leaders, for the 2013-2014 fundraising season.

Teffeteller joined Union Hospital in 2006 as Union Hospital’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, and became president and CEO in 2010.  He has over 20 years of senior management experience in healthcare evaluation, development and improvement of operations of multiple facilities in various geographical locations.

According to the press release, Teffeteller “has a proven track record for his ability in developing departmental and organizational business plans, managing cross-functional projects, overseeing multimillion dollar construction projects, negotiating politically sensitive financial and contractual arrangements between various healthcare entities, developing new business opportunities and service lines, recruiting physicians and managing departmental and organizational budgets. In addition to his work with Union Hospital, he serves on the boards of The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, March of Dimes Wabash Valley Division and The Country Club of Terre Haute.”

“Scott is a strong leader and is very engaged in our community”, said Troy Fears, executive director of the United Way of the Wabash Valley. “He understands both fundraising and the needs of the community so he is a great choice for this position.”

The 2012 campaign raised a total of $1,920,053, or 103 percent of the $1,860,000 goal. All campaign dollars remain within the Wabash Valley and will be allocated for those organizations most in need, the organization said in the news release.
