Parkinson’s group president to speak to support group today

TERRE HAUTE — Expertise from the state’s capital city will be available today for local people coping with Parkinson’s disease.

Nancy Pressner, president of the Parkinson’s Awareness Association of Central Indiana, will speak at the monthly meeting of the Terre Haute Parkinson’s Support Group from 10 to 11 a.m. in Westminster Village at 1120 Davis Drive. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Pressner is a registered nurse and has served as a Parkinson’s caregiver in her own family. She was a member of the board of directors of the Indianapolis-based PAACI for seven years before becoming the nonprofit agency’s president. That organization provides resources, education and support to affected individuals and families throughout central Indiana and the rest of the state.
