Acclaimed musician Newcomer to perform at ISU today


TERRE HAUTE — Acclaimed singer-songwriter Carrie Newcomer is set to perform today as part of the Indiana State Performing Arts Series.

Recognized as one of the most influential folk artists of the last 25 years by Chicago WBEZ, Newcomer uses her music to speak to cultural and spiritual themes. She has toured with Allison Kraus and written songs for Grammy winner’s Nickel Creek on their most acclaimed album, This Side.

Newcomer will be performing in the recently renovated University Hall Theatre in the Bayh College of Education on the campus of Indiana State University.

‘The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased from the Hulman Center Ticket Office, or charged at 1-800-745-3000.

Indiana State University students will be admitted for free with their student ID.
