Man jailed for allegedly shooting at WTWO facility

TERRE HAUTE — A Farmersburg man remained in custody Saturday evening, accused of firing bullets into a local television station.

According to a news release issued by the Indiana State Police, Kenneth Trey Bolinger, 24, of Farmersburg, was arrested Saturday afternoon for an allegation of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a class-C felony, and three counts of criminal mischief, a class-D felony. He remained in the Sullivan County Jail with bail set at $39,000.

Bolinger is accused of firing a weapon into the building of WTWO at 10849 N. U.S. 41, as well as two vehicles parked outside.

According to the release, troopers responded to the station at 8:33 a.m. Saturday to investigate the reports of gunfire. Employees reportedly heard gunfire about 4 a.m., but no damage was discovered until later that morning, the report states. Multiple rounds were reportedly fired through the front door glass, and multiple rounds were also fired into one company vehicle on the north side of the building, and one private vehicle on the west side.

There were no injuries reported. The release states that police believe Bolinger was recently terminated from WTWO.
