A Sullivan man was in critical condition at an Indianapolis hospital Friday after his pickup truck collided with a tanker truck in Sullivan County.
The Indiana State Police, in a news release, said Carl E. Roudebush, 52, of Sullivan failed to stop for a stop sign and struck a Kenworth truck pulling a fuel tanker on Indiana 154 at County Road 900 West in western Sullivan County.
Roudebush, who was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his vehicle, was first taken to Sullivan County Community Hospital and then airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with head injuries, according to the ISP news release.
The driver of the tanker was not injured in the crash, which took place a little after 7 a.m. Friday.
Police cited Roudebush for not wearing a seat belt, disregarding a stop sign and operating without a valid drivers license.
Emergency responders at the scene of the crash included the Indiana State Police, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, Sullivan County EMS and Turman Township Fire/Rescue.
