Police find meth labs, arrest Pierson Township man

TERRE HAUTE — Police uncovered two active methamphetamine labs in southeastern Vigo County on Monday, leading to the arrest of a Pierson Township man.

The Indiana State Police, in a news release issued Tuesday, said Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies were at the home of Bradley A. Lawson, 38, attempting to serve a warrant for child support when they spotted items commonly associated with meth production. At the same time, an Indiana State Police trooper arrived at Lawson’s residence acting on tips and other evidence indicating possible meth production.

Deputies Bob Bartlett and Kevin Murphy and trooper Brent Robinson searched the property and located two active meth labs, according to the news release. The also found numerous illegal dumpsites and other items associated with making meth.

Lawson was taken to Vigo County jail where he was facing preliminary allegations of manufacturing meth, a class-B felony, possession of meth, possession of precursors, dumping a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance, all class-D felonies.

The ISP Putnamville District Meth Lab Enforcement Team assisted in the investigation. The team will investigate any tips related to meth. Tips can be provided anonymously by calling the Putnamville Post at 765-653-4114.
