TERRE HAUTE — A Terre Haute businessman accused of racketeering now has additional criminal charges of allegedly dealing drugs filed against him.

Darrell E. Shouse, 52, appeared Tuesday in Vigo Superior Court 3 where he heard five felony drug-related counts alleging that he sold hydrocodone to a confidential informant on three occasions, and that he maintained a common nuisance on two occasions.

Judge David Bolk appointed a public defender in the case, and set another hearing for Thursday. Shouse is being held in the Vigo County Jail without bond.

Shouse was first arrested in September on eight criminal counts for allegedly ordering people to steal electronics and other items that he would then resell. In that case, he faces two counts of corrupt business influence, a class-C felony, along with six counts of attempted receiving stolen property, a class-D felony.

He had been released after posting bail in the first case.
