TERRE HAUTE —
Terre Haute firefighters are once again going to bat for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, members of Local 758 of the firefighters union will be collecting donations for the MDA at area businesses.
Volunteering their time, members of the local will be at the eastside Walmart from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Baesler’s Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at the southside Kroger from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each of the three days, said Paul Chalos, vice president of Local 758.
“It’s a good cause,” Chalos said. “It’s been kind of a tradition. We’ve done it for years and years.”
The firefighters normally raise up to $16,000 for MDA, Chalos noted. “We’ve raised as much as $20,000,” he said.
“Come rain or shine, we’ll be out there,” Chalos said.
