Three people taken to hospital after accident

— Three people were taken to Greene County General Hospital early Saturday morning after an accident reportedly involving a deer on Indiana 54.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department reported that a semitrailer crashed into the rear of a car driven by Joshua L. Orman, 24, of Rosedale around 1 a.m. Sunday morning near Greene County Road 450 West.
Orman told police a deer ran in front of his car so he slammed on his brakes and was then hit from behind by the semi driven by Brandon J. Ochs, 24, of Claremont, Ill.
Ochs told police he was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision with the car driven by Orman.
Indiana 54 was closed briefly while Orman’s car was removed from a ditch, where it came to a stop after being struck by the semi.
Orman and two passengers in his car, James Orman, 19, and Lindsey Beaman, 19, were transported to Greene County General Hospital. Each complained of neck pain while Beaman and Joshua Orman also complained of back pain.
Police from Lyons, Worthington and Bloomfield and the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident.
Firefighters from Switz City and Linton also responded, according to a news release provided by the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
