A Clay City man was arrested Wednesday on allegations of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and neglect of a dependent, after a search by the Clay County Sheriff’s Department.
According to a media release issued by the department, Kenneth Hummer, 47, was arrested at his residence as deputies followed up on tips offered by the community, which culminated in a search warrant.
Marijuana, paraphernalia and several firearms were discovered during the search, as well as two juveniles inside the home while drug use was under way, the report stated.
Neglect of a dependent is a class-D felony charge and is defined as a person having care of a dependent in a situation that endangers that dependent’s life or health.
Hummer was released on bail set at $7,000 with 10 percent accepted. He returns to court Sept. 29.
