Covenant Cooperative Ministry needs sponsors for about 50 children for back-to-school assistance.
CCM is accepting monetary and in-kind donations of new clothing and new shoes to be distributed to children from low-income families for the start of the school year this fall.
Donations may be dropped off or mailed to CCM at 122 S. 10th1⁄2 St.
CCM took applications for 200 children whose parents requested assistance with a new outfit and new shoes for the first day of school.
First Days Back to School display boards at Walmart South and East, Kmart, T.J. Maxx, Kohl’s, Old Navy and Pacesetter Sports will be available until Wednesday. The boards display tags with information about each boy or girl needing a sponsor such as age, gender, clothing sizes, shoe size and a wish list.
Shoppers may select a tag, shop for a child/teen and return items to CCM for distribution to parents in time for the first day of school. Call (812) 478-7700 for more information.
