Two methamphetamine traffickers were sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Terre Haute.
Judge Larry J. McKinney sentenced Enrique Hernandez, 28, of Amatitla, Mexico, to 11 years, three months in prison and Ryan E. Batchelor, 24, of Brazil to 14 years.
Both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of meth. They worked as drug runners for organizations that operated along the I-70 corridor from Indianapolis to Terre Haute from May 2005 to June 2006.
Their cases were the result of nine-month police investigations. Hernandez will be deported upon release from prison, according to a news release from the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.
