A second meeting has been set for people interested in helping establish long-term disaster recovery in the Wabash Valley. The meeting is 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Girl Scouts Office, 1100 Girl Scouts Lane.
All interested individuals in Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties are invited to attend.
The purpose of this meeting is to adopt a mission statement and operating procedures for this new coalition. Kevin Cox and Susan Jensen will provide an update on current FEMA involvement in meeting the immediate needs of flood victims. Troy Fears, executive director of United Way of the Wabash Valley, will provide an update on funding opportunities through the Indiana Association of United Ways.
Organizations such as civic organizations, social service agencies, local churches, community and private foundations, community health and mental health agencies and national organizations, agencies and faith-based bodies are welcome to attend.
