Swastika spray painted on city restaurant

— Someone recently painted a swastika on the back door of a Terre Haute Asian restaurant.
A black swastika under the number “88” was painted on the rear door of Thai World, better known as Exotic Thai Cuisine, at 1295 S. Third Street in Terre Haute.
A restaurant manager who did not want to give her name said the symbol soon would be painted over. She also said the restaurant has experienced vandalism in the past, including having windows shot out.
There were no plans to notify police about the swastika, the manager said.
This incident follows the painting last month of a swastika on the steps of the nearby Allen Chapel AME [African Methodist Episcopal] Church at 218 Crawford St., about eight blocks north of the Thai restaurant.
