A bridge crossing Simpson Ditch in Greene County has collapsed, according to a release today from the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
The bridge is on Indiana 57, north of the Prairie Chapel Church (in between County Road 200 South and 300 South.
The bridge collapsed at about 1:15 a.m. today, the release states. Indiana 57 has been shut down by the Indiana Department of Transportation for an unknown amount of time.
The release noted that this bride should not be confused with the river bridge in Newberry.
The Sheriff's Department also announced the following highway closings:
• Indiana 157, both north and east of Worthington
• Indiana 157, north of Indiana 48
• Indiana 67, south of Worthington
• Indiana 54, west of Bloomfield to west of the Indiana 57 jet
• Indiana 57, both north and south of Indiana 54
