    The 2008 Blues at the Crossroads Festival Committee wants a member of the community to create the artwork for this year’s event.
  •  Bluegrass band 'The Grascals' to release new album July 15
    There are Hoosier touches to a new album by The Grascals due out in July. The bluegrass group features former Indiana residents, including West Terre Haute native Terry Eldredge, Jimmy Mattingly (who spent boyhood years in Terre Haute) and southern Indiana native Jamie Johnson.
  • Brazil Concert Band begins sesquicentennial season
    The 150-year-old Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will begin its sesquicentennial season of “concerts under the stars” with a rehearsal set for 7 p.m. Tuesday in Northview High School in Brazil.

    Peter Mayer, Jimmy Buffett’s guitarist, will perform with his solo band at 7 p.m. May 23 in Cross Lane Community Church.

    The Terre Haute Symphony League will stage fundraisers in a series of luncheons.
  • ‘Idol’ finalist coming to Indiana Theatre
    “American Idol” season 5 finalist and Nashville recording artist Bucky Covington will be joined by special guests Jeff Bates, Emily West and Katie Armiger at a June 20 concert in the Indiana Theatre at 683 Ohio St., according to a release Thursday from country radio station WTHI HI-99.
  • LTC Spring Youth Recital on tap Sunday
    The music and community service departments at Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Ill., will present their annual Spring Youth Recital at 1:30 and 3 p.m. Sunday in the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.
  • Georgia band to perform at Verve
    Misfortune500 will play The Verve night club at 677 Wabash Ave. at 10 p.m. Thursday.
  • ISU to present ‘An Evening of Rodgers & Hammerstein’
    The Indiana State University Masterworks Chorale, under the direction of Scott Buchanan, will present the classic tunes from the most beloved musicals written by legendary duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II at 3 p.m. Sunday in Tilson Auditorium.
