Sisters of Providence accepting entries to Youth Art Contest through March 5
Wabash Valley artists ages 5-18 are invited to enter their creative, artistic masterpiece in the Sisters of Providence’s eighth annual Youth Art Contest. Submissions are now being accepted, through 4 p.m. March 5 at Owens Hall Reception at St. Mary-of-the-Woods.
Exhibit of Ansel Adams photos coming March 1 to Eiteljorg in Indianapolis
An exhibit of some of famed landscape photographer Ansel Adams’ favorite photos is coming to a downtown Indianapolis museum.
The collection of more than 80 photos Adams personally selected from his catalogue opens March 1 at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art museum.

Children’s Museum sets belated Ben Franklin birthday bash
The Terre Haute Children’s Museum will host a belated birthday celebration for Benjamin Franklin from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 26. “Ben’s Birthday Bash,” free with museum admission, will include many activities and presentations, including a special appearance by Benjamin Franklin himself.

TH Children’s Museum lists December, January open hours for days ahead
The Terre Haute Children’s Museum has set its holiday hours for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
The museum will operate on the following schedule:
ISU students’ thesis and senior art on exhibit through Dec. 14 in Landini Center’s gallery
You can catch a glimpse of an art student’s experience in the University Art Gallery’s last exhibition for the fall. The BFA/BS Thesis and Senior Exhibition celebrates the work of graduating art and design seniors’ accomplishments.
Running now through Saturday, the exhibit includes artwork from bachelor of fine arts candidate Mark Voelker and bachelor of arts candidates Charles Athey, Dacia Rund, Lindsey Staletovich, Tenia Wheat and Qing Yu.

Window shop on Wabash Dec. 8 at Historical Museum
The Vigo County Historical Museum is offering an opportunity to “magically” window shop on Wabash Avenue. The past will come to life in this year’s holiday exhibit called “Christmas on Wabash Avenue,” which will feature two large department store windows decorated as those which attracted shoppers for so long.

Traveling NASA Exhibit makes sense of science at Marshall Library
“Here, There, and Everywhere: Science Through Analogy, Near and Far” is coming to the Marshall (Ill.) Public Library from Dec. 3-30. The library is one of only 30 sites in the country selected as an exhibition venue. This traveling display consists of a series of large image-based panels and supporting hands-on activities that connect Earth and planetary sciences and astrophysics with everyday phenomena.

Clara & the Red Hat exhibition runs through Nov. 15

Warhol Foundation donates six prints to Indiana State
The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has donated six prints by the pop artist to the Indiana State University Permanent Art Collection.
The prints complement the Warhol Foundation’s 2008 donation to the university of 154 Warhol Polaroids and black and white photographs.

New York-based artist to speak Oct. 30 on public art’s impact on rivers
The Swope Art Museum and Art Spaces Inc. will present a talk by New York-based artist Betsy Damon at noon on Wednesday at the Swope. The artist will teach attendees about the public art she has created internationally to positively impact the health of rivers.

The Turman Art Gallery at Indiana State University will present “Seeing the Invisible Cities: an exhibition of student digital art work,” on display now through Nov. 13. The exhibited works, inspired by Italo Calvino’s “Invisible Cities,” are by current digital art students from Indiana State’s department of art and design.
