Art Guild calls for entries for May 1-3 spring show

The Wabash Valley Art Guild with Clabber Girl Museum and Art Gallery will present the Wabash Valley Art Guild’s 37th Annual Spring Art Show May 1-3.

The show is open to all artists over age 18. For an entry fee of $20 for members or $30 for non-members each participating  artist may submit up to three works of art in the categories: drawing, painting, three-dimensional, mixed media or photography.

Entry forms are available at Arts Illiana at 23 N. Sixth St. The deadline for receipt of entries is April 12. Work is to be delivered to Clabber Girl Museum Art Gallery between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on April 30, for hanging and judging.

This year’s juror is David Erickson. Erickson was a professor of art at Indiana State University from 1968 until his retirement in 2002, teaching drawing and printmaking. His work has appeared in many local and national exhibitions and is included in several private and public collections. He designed and painted the Flightful Fantasy mural at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum. He also is a member of Watermark Artist Collective and created three of the tiles for Watermark Landing at Fairbanks Park for the 2013 Year of the River.

An awards ceremony will open the artists’ reception at 6 p.m. on May 2.
