Nicholas Grubnich of Crown Point led all the way and won the Indiana Amateur golf championship completed Friday at Purgatory Golf Club.
Grubnich finished with an 8-under-par 280 total, three shots better than David Mills with 283.
Thomas Goss of Terre Haute tied for 39th, going 78-75-73-81 for 307.

• Final all-MIC — Five softball players and four baseball players were the final Terre Haute athletes named to all-Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference teams.
Honored from softball teams were Paige McClain, Conner Nelson and Jessica Will of North and Kelsey Marlow and Mackenzie McGregor of South.
On the all-MIC baseball team were Justin Jenkins and Austin Slover of South and T.J. Collett and Austin Hicks of North.

• Darland wins opener — At Putnamville, Dave Darland won the first race in the U.S. Auto Club Indiana Midget Week series Thursday at Lincoln Park Speedway.
Darland led all the way to win the 30-lap feature and assumed the early lead in Midget Week totals going into Friday’s action at Bloomington. Rico was fast qualifier, won his heat and took third in the feature behind Darland and Tracy Hines.
Six flips were recorded with Justin Peck taken to a local hospital for observation.
Chad Boespflug won his heat and the feature for sprint cars; Darland was sixth in that feature. Randy Shuman won his heat and the A-main for modifieds.
Regular racing is scheduled tonight at the track.
