METRO ROUNDUP: North, South well-represented on All-Star teams

North-South game to be played at Rose-Hulman on April 14

TERRE HAUTE — Two Terre Haute schools, two Terre Haute coaches and four Terre Haute All-Stars.

When it comes to the 21st Annual North-South All-Star Classic on April14 at Rose-Hulman, it would be hard to discern any North-South bias.

Both schools placed All-Stars on the girls and boys teams and each school will have a coach on the sideline for the games. Terre Haute South’s Cara Stuckey will coach the South team in the girls game at 2 p.m. Terre Haute North’s Todd Woelfle will coach the South team in the boys game at 4 p.m.

Each will have one of their own players and one from their cross-town rival.

Stuckey will have her own Brave — Tasia Brewer — as well as North’s Nicole Anderson. Woelfle will have Calvin Blank — a four-year player for the Patriots — as well as fellow four-year player Jeffrey Turner from the Braves.

Linton’s Austin Karazsia and Rockville’s Lane Mahurin and Gary Ulrich were three other Wabash Valley players named to the South boys squad.

Rockville’s Jenifer Lee and Sullivan’s Rhagen Smith — who will play at Indiana State — are also on the South team. North Vermillion’s Taylor Turchi is also playing for the North girls team.

Included on the North boys team are Brenton Scott of Fort Wayne Northrop and Alex Etherington of Hamilton Heights, both are ISU recruits.
